Book Club Discussion
Hey everyone. I announced this over on Your Dark Passenger, but then I forgot to mention it here. I’m going to be holding a book club discussion of Blasphemy by Douglas Preston right here on The Stiletto Philosopher. Most of the concepts are such that everyone will be able to take part in the discussion even without having read the book, but now that I’ve finished it, I HIGHLY recommend it. (Please see my posts on either blog for ordering information.)
I hope everyone will join me in the discussion so I’m not going to begin until Monday, April 6th to allow everyone who wants to read the book some time to get going. Based on just what I was able to pull out of it, we should have a lively discussion going for quite some time. I’m really looking forward to this.
In a nutshell, this is the book that fueled some of my previous discussions about whether there’s a point to life if we know our future and if God and Science can, in fact, coexist without destroying the other. I think those on both sides of the argument will be please with the way in which their side is represented in Blasphemy.
You have three weeks so you’d better get to reading.
